Redding Convention Center The Redding Convention Center is a multipurpose building that was designed to serve as an auditorium, convention center, and exhibition hall. This versatile facility plays host to a variety of events, from top-billed performers like magician David Copperfield, radio personality Garrison Keillor, and comedian Gallagher, to world class performances by dance troupes such as the Bolshoi Ballet. Redding Record Searchlight The Record Searchlight was founded as the Redding Record Searchlight in October of 1938 by Editor Paul C. Bodenhamer and Business Manager Harry O. Bostwick. Today’s Record Searchlight is the result of the consolidation of several area newspapers that traced their heritage back to the pioneer community of Shasta and the Shasta Courier, which was founded March 13, 1852.
